An initial meeting is scheduled to discuss your vision and needs for your home, office or landscape. Most likely we will meet at the site to get a good look at the structure. At this point we can discuss how you envision your project and what you hope to achieve. We will also review the blueprints if available and go over estimated budgets. The lighting plan will be created based on your responses to our questionnaire, and a collaborative effort between us to achieve your desired results. We will want to work with the other members of your team (if you are doing a major renovation) including the general contractor, interior designer, electrician, landscape contractor, home theater installers and other subcontractors so that all you goals will be achieved. Once the first draft of a lighting plan is created we will go over it in detail. You will be asked to sign off on the design once we get to the point where you are comfortable that we have met your desires. The lighting plan will contain a list of all fixtures to be used, their location and height and the dimming controls for every room. Once your sign off on the plan, we proceed as follows: ILD goes over the design with the electrician. On site changes are often necessary to accommodate structural issues and other design considerations. These will be communicated to you for your approval. ILD will review the fixture placement before the drywall is installed to insure the layout is proper. ILD is available throughout the project for further questions and consideration. ILD will work with the electrician to program and adjust the controls or control system and set up lighting scenes, timed events, and integration into other house systems. |
